Service Description

The Taster Workshop is a short, relaxed introduction to the Made Together Music experience. It is designed for organisations who would like to try a creative music-production session before booking a longer project. This session gives participants the chance to explore instruments, sounds and recording equipment in a fun and accessible way. The focus is on trying things out, building confidence and giving the group a feel for what is possible. Participants might experiment with guitars, keyboards, percussion, microphones, electronic instruments, beats, loops or sound effects. They may help create a simple rhythm, choose sounds, record short vocal ideas, add percussion, suggest themes or take part in a group listening activity. There is no pressure to perform, sing alone or have any previous musical experience. The workshop can be shaped around the confidence levels, communication styles and support needs of the group. The Taster Workshop is ideal for: - Organisations trying Made Together Music for the first time - Groups who may benefit from a shorter, lower-pressure session - Schools or centres exploring music as an enrichment activity - Youth groups looking for something creative and hands-on - SEN settings wanting to introduce recording and music technology gradually - Existing groups who want to see whether a longer project would suit them Unlike the One-Song or EP packages, the Taster Workshop does not need to result in a fully finished track. Instead, the aim is to introduce the group to the process, spark ideas and help the organisation decide what kind of project could work best in future. Where possible, a short audio idea, rough recording or creative starting point may be captured during the session. This can then be developed into a fuller One-Song, EP or Album Project if the organisation would like to continue. The Taster Workshop is simple, flexible and easy to arrange - a chance for participants to explore music-making, discover new roles and experience the excitement of creating sound together.
